London Burger Bash - The Final - #LBBFinal

It's been a long road for London's best burger slingers - 18 months of heats and then down to four finalists on 6 April 2014.

Take a look at my brief photo story from the day.

[Meat Free January] Patty & Bun 'Dig It' Veggie Burger

There's always a slight sense of disappointment when revisiting some of my best rated and favourite burgers in London, only to masochistically ignore the joys of their unctuous beefy creations, and instead order the vegetarian option.

Patty & Bun, one of London's best burgers, delivers just that feeling. As I continue my meat free January - the second year I've sacrificed the pleasures of the flesh for the pleasures of the field - I can't help but crave. So I order the only burger on the menu that I'm allowed - the portobello 'Dig It' mushroom burger...

Meat Free January 2014 - The London Veggie Burger Review

Well, hello 2014.

Another year, another set of new year resolutions I'm never going to keep. Don't ask. And another January where I'm going meat and alcohol free. Needless to say the cravings have started, and I want bacon all the time, but so far I've been resolute.

In January 2013 I embarked on a month long review of the various veggie burgers available to non-meat eaters (and detox suckers) available in London - and this year I plan to continue my veggie burger research across a selection of other London burger joints.

You can check out my reviews of the various establishments I tried in 2013 below - and keep an eye out for my new reviews in 2014:

Patty and Bun Burger Bar, 54 James Street, W1U 1EU

Patty & Bun's effervescent proprietor, Joe, is back. But this time it's no fleeting pop-up, this time it's a permanent home for Patty & Bun on James Street, just North of Bond Street tube station. As Patty & Bun flew straight into my Top 10 best burgers in London list when he first popped up, this is exciting news indeed...

Short Term Residency: Patty & Bun at The Endurance, Soho

A quick heads up to burger lovers who can make it down to The Endurance in Soho, as Patty & Bun have a mini residency there for the next few weeks.

Serving up the very popular Ari Gold burger from their pop-up in The Doodle Bar in Battersea, as well as specials such as the Foghorn Leghorn Chicken Burger, and the Smokey Robinson Burger, this is well worth a visit, if only to say hi to the effervescent Joe Grossman - the inspiration behind Patty & Bun - who will be taking your order behind the bar.

Patty and Bun - Fun at the Doodle Bar

Update November 2012: Patty & Bun have launched a permanent restaurant on James St. behind selfridges, and it's glorious. Read the full Patty & Bun restaurant review.

Update May 2012: Patty & Bun are now popping up at The Endurance on Berwick Street, Soho.

Tucked away in a warehouse, just off Battersea Bridge Road is a place called The Doodle Bar. It's a wicked space, populated with beautiful, beautiful people (slightly more adventurous sloaney types who've made it across the river), art installations, a table tennis table, a bar, and a kitchen that on a Friday night is taken over by Street Kitchen (@streetkitchen) (a venture headed up be Mark Jankel, serving cracking lunches to the well-heeled in Broadgate) and Patty & Bun, a concept by the effervescent Joe (@pattyandbunjoe).
