[Infographic] Burgers are big business in the UK - but how big?
An infographic popped into my inbox the other day that gives a great overview of the burger boom experienced in the UK in 2013. It was created by Rangeland foods (purveyors of the terrifying sounding 'Flamed Steakburger') and in my view does a pretty good job of demonstrating how the humble burger has come to dominate menus across the country.
I've split out some of the more interesting sections here, but you can view the full infographic at the bottom of this post.
The Burger Boom:
Burgers are the number 1 menu item in the UK - outranking Pizza, Fish and Chips and Steak. They've always been my number 1, so thankfully others are starting to agree.

[Review] Vigata Burgers, Kings Cross - A Burger of Two Halves
Vigata burgers is something of an anomaly. It's situated up the hill from Kings Cross towards Angel, on Pentonville Road and is ostensibly a pizza restaurant. Emblazoned with red livery and 'Ristorante Pizzeria', it's only when you get up close and personal with the menu that you notice there's a section dedicated to burgers.
It feels odd to have an Italian-style restaurant that also serves burgers - but then again, they serve pizza and burgers, what's not to love, right?

[Review] Pizza Hut Cheeseburger Pizza. With Bacon.
Hello. You're going to enjoy this. A lot more than I did.
I'd like to introduce you to the Pizza Hut Cheeseburger Pizza.
An aberration that could only have been dreamed up on the back of a marathon crystal meth session, and a serious case of American junk food trend following.
I have to say, the minute the flyer dropped through the door I wanted one. I was drawn to it like a moth to a flame, as ironically unaware as the moth is, that the result would be doom.
Still, I was able to add bacon FOR JUST 50p. How could anyone without a cast iron will resist that offer...

Build-a-Burger gummy sweets get the Hamburger Me! treatment
Let it not be said that I only give you unadulterated meaty burger porn on this blog. Although, granted there's a fair bit of that. I do sometimes look at burgery stuff that doesn't revolve around grilled meat, gooey cheese, and squishy buns...and this is just such an occasion.
| Only natural flavours and colours go into the burger components...that's a good start |

[Review] Burger at The Ring, Southwark
I had a Huge Pole in The Ring the other day. Trust me, correct use of initial caps is very important in that last sentence. In fact, as The Ring was full, I had a Huge Pole outside The Ring.
Right, now I've got that off my chest, I can reveal The Ring is actually a relatively nondescript pub in Southwark, and it holds a secret. It's currently serving the full range of franks from Big Apple Hot Dogs, alongside a short burger menu. So I sampled both.
